Anshika is no ordinary volunteer.
She initiated the installation of one of the first solar power generation units in South Bombay.  As per our knowledge there are no other non-profits who have a green building in the region according to reports from MSEB.

Anshika wanted to contribute to our organisation, but she wanted to do something other than the regular. After discussions we took up the bold decision to go ahead and try to get our building solar powered.
The project started almost 3 months ago after consultations with the subject matter experts.  Our vendor collected details about :
1. What is our average usage from the records of our 6 month electric bills.
2. How many kWs of power needed to be produced.
3. Estimation of the installation costs.

Next was looking for a sponsor to fund the project and we had to look no further than our generous partners at The Lion’s Club, Harbour. Together the project was constructed at a cost of INR 3,00,000 and inaugurated on Apr 2nd, 2017.

The power generated by the 3 kW unit would be fed directly into the MSEB systems and an audit would be taken at the end of the year to calculate the amount of power generated and we would be reimbursed accordingly.
We have ambitious plans of making all our training centers energy sufficient and are planning further for that. This initiative would significantly help us reduce our yearly expenses.
