DBM’s Dharavi Centre is one of the busiest Vocational Training centres in Mumbai conducting various Courses ~ Beautician, Tailoring and Computer Training. But lately the centre was challenged with issues like lack of proper classrooms, the building had huge lobbies but no decent partition. We observed that for the Beautician and the Tailoring courses which are mainly joined by female students we needed to have proper rooms for ladies beneficiaries to come and practice and train without any inhibitions. Dharma Bharathi Mission decided to create a vibrant environment and well-planned classrooms to have separate training facilities for students of Tailoring, Beautician and Computer courses.
Post restructuring and remodelling the Dharavi Centre, the female students are able to learn and practice beautician training and tailoring courses. DBM is now able to introduce some new courses in Computer Training like the Internet, Tally, Web designing, etc. as we have separate places and classrooms for the same.
On 13th August 2019 Chief Guest Shri Ranjit Bakshi inaugurated the remodelled Dharavi Centre. The event was attended by DBM’s Senior Management Team Mr.Paramjeet Singh, Ms. Farheen Peshimam, Mr. Manjit Singhji (DBM Well Wisher), Mr. Satnam Singh Ji, Principals of the nearby schools and also some Local Social Workers.
