Hello, I am Gautam Vaswani a final year student pursuing Bachelor in Engineering, in Information Technology.
My journey with teaching grew initially when I used to teach my friends before exams, I realised I loved doing this service. Teaching for me is a spiritual process and since then I have always wanted to teach.
I was lucky that one day in this pandemic I came to know about DBM India through IMFS, and had a talk with Paramjeet sir.
I was really inspired by his initiative and decided to associate with DBM India to teach the underprivileged students.
During the first week it was difficult for us to get along as it was the first time we were professionally teaching and that too through online mode. Also the students were a bit shy and it wasn’t easy for them also to adapt to the changes. Every student of this country was facing this classroom to virtual room journey.
Eventually with time and little realisation of the fact that we were there to gain knowledge and in this world no pandemic could stop us, we all became comfortable with each other and started bonding with each other. At this point the feeling of helping them out was amazing and we decided that we will be there for them as mentors even after their Boards.
On the day of the Parents Teacher meeting, when a few parents said that they could see improvement in their kids especially in a subject like mathematics, it was a really good feeling. I felt that the plant I had grown, had actually started bearing fruit.
I am thankful to DBM India specially Paramjeet sir for giving me this opportunity.
I would even like to thank Gopal sir, Graciel ma’am and Rajesh sir for making it easier for us to teach online. Last but not least I would like to thank each and every student who made us feel proud.
