“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” ~ Mother Teresa
This Independence Day has been one of the most difficult time for people in God’s own Country, Kerela. Beginning in 15th August, severe flood affected Kerela. It was one the worst flooding in Kerela in nearly a century. Tragically the death toll numbers are devastating & several people are still missing. The property loss was also unimaginably huge because of the landslide.
We wouldn’t want to highlight these tragic numbers, but we would like to share how Dharma Bharathi Mission bought smile back to a few people.
DBM sent Threaptin biscuits, Notebooks, Stationery items, cloth bags etc. Special school kits were distributed amongst children in Kerela.
27 flood affected families were helped financially with an amount ranging from ₹ 5000- 17000. These families’ houses were cleaned, repaired, and they were provided with adequate medical facilities. The children were helped with Educational necessities like books, stationeries etc.
DBM tried to help these families to get back to their normal life and provided support in every possible manner. Dharma Bharathi Mission (Mumbai) and Goonj (New Delhi) furnished household material support to these families.
Our Team was really touched when the families we rehabilitated expressed their gratitude and their eyes were filled with tears of joy.
