The DBM Tinkering Lab is a hands-on learning space under the Udaan Education Program, created to make Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies accessible to children and youth from underserved communities.
Located in the M-East Ward Mumbai, it is the first of its kind community Tinkering Lab which allows Udaan students as well as students from local schools in and around the community an opportunity to explore technology beyond textbooks.
It is a space where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are tested and students learn by building, experimenting and creating.

Tinkering Lab sessions complement regular academic learning, allowing students to connect classroom concepts with practical applications.
Instead of simply learning about technology, students get the opportunity to build robots, write code, experiment with AI models and develop their own solutions.
For many students, the Tinkering Lab is their first meaningful exposure to emerging technologies. The experience is helping build problem-solving, logical thinking, creativity, teamwork and confidence.
The lab is also creating greater participation among girls, helping young learners see themselves not just as users of technology, but as creators and innovators.
Udaan is more than a learning centre. It is a launchpad for potential.
By bringing together academic support, mentorship, life skills, career awareness and exposure to emerging technologies, Udaan helps young people move towards a future of greater possibilities.
